Wherever the waters of the Jura tried to carve their way from the Jura folds into the Mittelland, deep gorges were carved out. The Areuse stream thunders through one of these gorges. This sometimes challenging trail affords plunging views into the natural spectacle. Even on hot summer days, a cool breeze blows.

The small Areuse River thunders through the Areuse Gorge between Noiraigue and Boudry. A challenging hiking trail allows you to contemplate the natural site from up close. The nearby castle of Boudry nestled in the vineyards has been turned into a wine museum. The hike is 11km long and takes 3.5 hours. (Quelle: myswitzerland.ch)
